Origin Mediterranean region and sub tropical climates world wide


Scientific Name Vitex agnus-castus


Description - A small shrub with violet flower spikes and long slender leaves with red berries. The red berries are dried before using. - This herb stimulates the pituitary gland which in turn signals the ovaries to increase the production of the female hormone progesterone. Also inhibits the excessive production of another hormone, Prolactin, ( it regulates breast milk production.) - Helps to restore hormonal balance , alieviate bloating, irritibility, and depression symptoms of PMS. - May be useful to women who are trying to get pregnant


Uses - Alleviate PMS symptoms - Regulate menstruation - Promotes fertility - Eases menopausal hot flashes


Notes Some have experienced rashes, and stomach irritation , and an increase in menstrual flow.
